Landscape Designer
Location: Prairieville
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a passion for design, a strong knowledge of plants and materials, and the ability to turn concepts into compelling outdoor spaces. You’ll collaborate with clients, project managers, and installation crews to bring visions to life from initial sketches to final build.This role is perfect for someone who blends artistry with practicality and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Development:
- Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and site conditions.
- Create custom landscape designs.
- Develop site plans, planting plans, and hardscape details.
- Specify plant materials, construction materials, and design elements.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with estimators, drafters, and project managers to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with budgets.
- Make site visits to gather measurements and ensure design intent is met during installation.
- Adjust designs based on client feedback and construction constraints.
- Client Interaction:
- Present design concepts in a clear, engaging manner.
- Maintain strong communication and rapport with clients throughout the design and construction process.
- Provide guidance on plant care, maintenance, and seasonal considerations.
- Documentation & Communication:
- Prepare construction documents, planting schedules, and material lists.
- Ensure all drawings comply with local codes and permitting requirements.
- Maintain organized records of projects, revisions, and communications.
Qualifications
- Excellent visualization, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
Preferred (but not required)
- Degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or other relevant design tools.
- Strong knowledge of regional plant material, hardscape products, and design principles.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
